Yaz must see the look of horror on my face because she quickly adds, 'But Enid had a lot of other problems. She ended up on so many different drugs, she was like a zombie.' 'My aunt and uncle took her from one specialist to another, but nothing worked. Then it got so bad she started eating weird things like dirt and lint.' She shudders. Yaz blinks at me, then she says quietly, 'My cousin Enid had to see a specialist.' And suddenly Thalia starts having hunger pains and her stomach seems to be growling a lot, which freaks people out. I think that would be kind of nice to a certain extent, I mean I wouldn't want to have to take some meds or drugs to be that way. Anyhoo, in this world you don't have to pee or poop or worry about eating. This review is going to suck because I can't explain this world too well. They are looking for ways to make the planet self sustaining again. This boy is named Basil and he's with the resistance group, Analogs. She goes to the Outer Loop and ends up meeting a boy in one of the abandoned buildings.

The people in the book live by taking meds to make them not hungry and it's supposed to be nutritional and stuff.īut Thalia keeps thinking about food and she likes to wander around looking for things from our other time. She lives in a world where there is no killed the world at some point in a war and now there are no animals or plants, nothing.

Thalia Apple, yes that is her name, is the main character of the story. I liked the book good enough but sat here trying to think of what I wanted to rate it and how much I liked it.
